The Ivory House is located on the coast about 3 km from the city of Maiori, on the Amalfi Coast.
Maiori sits in the deepest inlet of the Amalfi coast, at the mouth of a river. Due to its location and the natural landscape, it boasts the largest beach of the Amalfi Coast.
During the middle ages, Maiori was the primary harbor of the Amalfi Republic, housing arsenals and military headquarters. It was surrounded by coastal fortifications, some of which remain today.
